Who am I?
My name is John Sammon, I'm 27 years old and I currently live in Cleveland, Ohio. I am getting ready to attend graduate school in the fall at Ohio University. I will be pursuing a MA in Visual Communications with a specialization in Interactive Multimedia.
Why am I doing this?
I'm doing this for several reasons. Here are the primary reasons:
- Raise money to pay for graduate school. I'll be paying my undergrad loans off for the next 25 years or so and I don't want to go into any more debt
- A fun way to test my internet marketing skills. I will be challenged to use my creativity to market stuff through the internet. This is an initial test of my skills to market myself. We'll see how well I do.
- I feel that I'm a good investment. I've worked very hard learning web/graphic design for the last 5 years. With the boom of video on the web, (sites such as youtube.com) I feel like I'm just scratching the surface of my creativitiy and am poised to tear up graduate school once I start. Where will the money go?
The money will go to any expenses related to school such as tuition, books, a new computer and software, housing, etc.
How much are you trying to raise?
I am trying to raise $20,000 to put toward my degree. The MA program at Ohio University lasts 5 quarters and will last almost 2 years.
What happenens if there is money left over?
If there is money left over after I graduate I will donate that to Ohio University's Visual Communications program to use for graduate scholarships.
Why should I sponsor you?
Because your ad on this website may be seen by hundreds of thousands of visitors over the course of it's time. I will periodically put out press releases and emails to help promote the website. I plan on updating the site with all my sponsors and through a blog documenting my studies at college. I will have the site up (at the very least) until I graduate in June of 2009.

How did you come up with this idea?
I was inspired when I saw the Million dollar homepage. The person who started that website for the same purpose that I am doing mine: fund his higher education.
